MIDDLETOWN FAMILY DAY FUN IN STORE ON SEPT. 28
MIDDLETOWN, R.I. (SEPTEMBER 11, 2024) – Get in on the fun with the 15th annual “Middletown Family Day” on Sept. 28.
Hosted by the Middletown Prevention Coalition and Middletown Public Library, the festivities will be held 4-8 pm from Second Beach, 315 Sachuest Point Road. The rain date is Sept. 29.
Organizers said the free family event will feature everything from a bouncy house and rock climbing wall to face painting, touch-a-truck, music and more.
Saccucci Honda dealership and Friends of the Middletown Public Library are the title sponsors of Family Day.
“Every year, it keeps getting better and better,” Middletown Prevention Coalition Director Lori Verderosa said. “Family Day is a great way for people from across the community to get together, have a good time and promote healthy lifestyles.”
“We’re happy at the Middletown Public Library to be part of Family Day this year,” library Director Kimberly Usselman said. “It’s a great way to promote all the positive we do in Middletown and I know Lori and I want to thank our sponsors and everyone for helping out this year. None of this would be possible without Saccucci’s Honda and the Friends of the Middletown Public Library.”
The roots of Family Date back years ago. Created by The Center For Addiction in 2001, Family Day has grown into a national movement celebrating family engagement.
Organizers said simple things parents do with their kids everyday make a difference that help create strong, healthy relationships. They added that kids who are “connected” to family are less likely to be involved in substance use, bullying and other risky behaviors.
