Middletown Fire stands ready to assist, including a wayward duckling that fell through a drainage grate at a lower Aquidneck Avenue business Tuesday afternoon.
Middletown Fire came to the rescue of a wayward duckling Tuesday afternoon. Concerned customers at the Cumberland Farms called a fire crew for a report of a duckling that had fallen through a drainage grate at the convenience store at 94 Aquidneck Ave. Responding to the scene, firefighters were able to safely remove the duckling from the catch basin and return it to its brood without injury. The Middletown Fire crew included Battalion Chief Brian DeFreitas, Firefighter Bruce Page and Recruits Brennan Martin and Zachary Smus. The Town of Middletown appreciates the service of Middletown Fire to its residents, businesses and wildlife.
